Keisuke Honda has been the ace player of the Samurai Blue for years. In 2009-2010 season, Osaka born midfielder played for Russian club CSKA Moscow. He scored a wonderful goal through a direct free kick in the UEFA Champions League away match against Sevilla, which led CSKA to the quarterfinals. Honda became the first Japanese player to score in CL knock-out stages.

And Honda was included in the Japan’s 2010 FIFA World Cup squad. He secured his regular position shortly before the competition. Honda joined one of the Italian big clubs, AC Milan from CSKA Moscow on a free transfer in January 2014. He struck his first goal against Spezia in Coppa Italia quarter-final. As a key player of Japan National team, Honda took part in 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil in summer. He became the first Japanese player who struck 2 shots in different World Cup.

But after the tournament, he has been struggling at his club AC Milan and National team with finding himself on the bench during 2016-2017 season. National team manager Vahid Halilhodzic warned him to play regularly for his club. Honda’s contract with AC Milan is set to expire in June. It is reported that Japan national team midfielder could move to MLB, China or Premier League.
